Jesus said, “Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” At once they left their nets and followed him.

Matthew 4:19-20

Jesus’s invitation to follow him is directly tied to us making disciples. It is not a choice but a command.

Who is a disciple?

A disciple is an individual who follows Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior.

What is Disciple-making?

The process begins when an individual hears the good news of Jesus. When they decide to put their faith in God, a mature disciple comes along side and helps this individual grow in their commitment to Christ by way of teaching, equipping, holding them accountable and delegating them to do the same with another individual.

This is what the Great Commission is all about!

How do you make a disciple? You go to somebody who isn't one. You win them to Jesus Christ and you teach them all things 'whatsoever I have commanded.' You build them in the word. That's the job all of us have.
